Causes of Mysterious Light Revealed As Earthquake

Over the years, many people who witness a mysterious light in the sky that appear before and when earthquakes occur. Now, had revealed the cause of the appearance of a mysterious light.

During this time, the emergence of light-shaped fireball in the sky before the earthquake Earth has always been a great mystery to scientists. Finally, a team of scientists from NASA Ames Research Center and San Jose State University looking for a serious answer.

To trace the origins of the mysterious light, the scientists examined 65 sightings over the last 400 years. Then, it was found that the answer to the mysterious light was coming from within the Earth's crust, launched Science Recorder.

The scientists identified the presence of an electric current that flows out of several fault lines earthquakes. Then, each of the electrical fault was mutual attraction and creating a fireball in the sky.

To note, the average earthquakes occur in subduction zones, where the crash oceanic plate and continental plate. But, it's not an electric appearance of the subduction zone, but rather from the fault lines that exist in the continental crust.

"On the fault line of continental plates are very prone to extreme friction, as it will form a very steep trough. Friction extreme form of electricity that flows through the Earth's surface and creates a flash of light after the ionized air," explains researcher Friedemann Freund from NASA Ames Research Center.

Previously, scientists are not sure of the existence of a mysterious light that appears before the earthquake struck the Earth, and there has been no scientific reports that describe it.

But, that view changed in 2007 when a camera was able to record the appearance of the two balls of light in the sky city of L'Aquila, Italy, and in the city of Pisco, Peru, shortly before the earthquake.

The incident is then directly inspire a team of scientists from NASA Ames Research Center and San Jose State University to find out the origin of the mysterious light.
