Translucent U.S. Temperature -50 Degrees Celsius, Impact of Global Warming?

The last few days, the northern region of the United States are full of snow with temperatures very cold temperatures. The temperature reached minus 50 degrees Celsius. And, of course can make frozen Uncle Sam.

Many thought the event was caused by the snow storm. However, some observers believe that the weather phenomenon was caused by a natural phenomenon called Polar Vortex (polar vortex).

Reported by NBC News, a meteorologist from The Weather Channel, Frank Giannasca explained polar vortex is a large cold air flow which rotates in tens of thousands of feet below the atmosphere.

However, some scientists have another theory, experts from the Weather Underground, Dr. Jeff Masters, and research professor of the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University, Dr.. Jennifer Francis, suggest the possibility that the weather due to global warming.

Reported Weather, both suspect that extreme temperatures resulting from changes in the jet stream. Jet Stream is a rapid flow of high-pressure winds that restrict cold Arctic air and warm air in the tropics.

"Jet streams play a major role in changing weather patterns and extreme temperatures that hit the U.S.," said the researcher.

In recent years, the movement of the jet stream has changed significantly and bring the "lashes" weird weather than the weather patterns of the past.

In recent years, researchers have highlighted the dramatic decline Francis Arctic sea ice levels over the last 30 years. This dramatic decline is suspected because the jet stream is getting weird.

Well, scientists expect dramatic changes in the polar regions because melting ice in the Arctic. It makes polar experience greater warming than the entire Northern Hemisphere.

"Because of shrinking sea ice, which is supposed to sunlight reflected back into space by ice instead absorbed by the ocean, which then got hotter and melt more ice," said Francis, in an article published in March 2012 in Yale360.

Furthermore, he added, the extra heat it entered into a broad expanse of open water that was once covered with ice. "The extra heat is then released into the atmosphere in the fall," he said.

Unfortunately, the extra heat stored in the atmosphere instead influence on local weather and large scale. Given Arctic heats up so quickly, the temperature difference between the poles and the narrow latitude.

Differences are pushing what the researchers jet stream. When the temperature decreases, the jet stream slows and more undulating in the north-south flow of the east-west flow normally.

The waves can even get stuck in a pattern that lasts longer than the pattern that occurred several years ago.

When this condition occurs, the jet stream wave slows down and enlarged by the hardening of the North Pole. These waves then move eastward more slowly, so that the waves associated weather can last longer.
